Since our founding, we act responsibly towards the environment, dedicating efforts to the construction of a different tomorrow. Under this pillar we decided, then, to renew our commitment to care for what is ours and everyone else’s and signed another partnership with the SOS Mata Atlântica NGO: the “Watching out the Rivers” project.
This project aims to engage citizens and local communities towards monitoring, evaluating and caring for water quality in river basins from 17 Brazilian states. Inside the contemplated regions there are springs that provide water to 70% of the Brazilian population – that is, more than 120 million people and around 3400 municipalities -, besides being towards numerous means, such as agriculture, fishing, industry, tourism and energy generation.
With this partnership, the “Watching out the Rivers” project, originally developed on the Tietê river basin (SP), will be expanded, with new monitoring groups in the states of Pernambuco, Paraíba, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, Ceará, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina and Paraná. Thus, it will further contribute to water conservation, management and governance, involving all of society in a conscious manner.
To Ypê, taking care of what is yours is worth a lot, but taking care of what is everyone’s is worth much more!
